Reporting from Creative Escape

Today I'm scheduled to be in the Provo Craft Swap Room from 6AM to 1PM. We have just 6 swaps left to hand out! I've had a blast meeting fun ladies at Creative Escape and am looking forward to all the closing festivities this evening. Here are a few photos of the Halloween Decor in the Provo Craft Swap Room. These shapes are actually the same shapes that are available on the new Cricut Halloween Cartridges.

The Swap Room

I will be at Creative Escape at the Wild Horse Pass Resort in Chandler, AZ for the next few days! So excited to meet all the girls that I have been communicating with and coordinating swaps for. This huge task has put me a little behind on everything else...but life will be back to "semi-normal" again for me soon!

If you are here in sunny Arizona, you are welcome to visit the Scrapbooks, Etc. on-site store at Creative Escape. Visit the store's website for more info: Scrapbooks, Etc. If you do come down, visit me in the Provo Craft Swap Room to say "Hello"...you will want to check out our creepy, spooky and cooky lounge! Hope to see you!

So....

Why don't I....Take on what may possibly be the largest swap ever (perhaps I will be in the Genus Book of World Records), design my first ever "POP-UP" card class, VOLUNTEER to teach at the store sampler next month, be invited to UPDATE my class teacher board, host the "Par-Tee of the Summer," AND decide it is time for me to make Christmas quilt during the month of August????

Something must not be "quite right" with me! HA! (anyone else sense a MELTDOWN approaching?) J/K...I am loving every moment of this super busy time!

BTW: Next month I will have both an evening and a day POP-A-LATTE card class! Class dates are Thursday, September 16th 6 to 8:30 PM and Friday, September 17th, 10:30 to 1. We will do 4 Fall and 4 Halloween POP-UP cards! Call the Scrapbooks, Etc to sign-up at 480-854-2303.

Here is my quilt that I have worked so hard on...cutting, pressing, sewing, pressing, sewing, pressing, sewing (you get the gist). All that is left is the batting, quilting (I'll leave this task to the class instructor) and to complete the binding. ***Cute little chihuahua reindeer not included!

What a great gift!

For a "Coffee Lover" like me. My sweet co-worker, Jenny-Pie, made me these AWESOME coffee cozies! You slip them over your Starbucks Latte in place of that plain brown sleeve. Love them so much -- use them frequently! They go very well with the Starbucks Gift card I received. What a great birthday I had!

Birthday Wishes...

I recently celebrated a Birthday. I was so flattered to receive many wonderful gifts and cards. Two of my favorites (yes two) were sent to me by my BFF Cindy. The inside of the card on the left reads... "hope your birthday is as AWESOME as a Chihuahua riding a chicken!" Thanks BFF...it was! xoxo

$125.75 Raised!

Dear AZ Humane Society,

We hold an annual event for a group of women who scrapbook. Typically at this event, we run games and give away prizes. This year, we struggled to decide what to do for game. We considered having an animal theme because we are known for our love for our dogs. Suddenly, we had a great idea to do something different this year. We asked each event participant to purchase the prize tickets with 100% of the proceeds going to the Humane Society.

We were very pleased at the generosity of these wonderful ladies. The jar we brought was filled to the top. It added to the happiness of the day knowing that a lot of good can come from a small contribution by each individual.

We could not have pulled it all together without the help from our dear friend (and animal lover) Barbara “Crop” Aras. She made the entry tickets with stamped paw prints, decorated all the gift bags and contributed to the prizes given away.

Please find the enclosed check for the money we collected and a portion of the profits from sales made that day. Thank you for all you do for the well-being of our furry friends!

Thank you, Georgia Hauglid and Susan Mast

I did this Tag Flag Mini Book years ago. As a matter of fact, I did MANY Tag Flag books early in my career. This is my personal favorite because it features my dear friend, and right hand, Barbara! She's so special and I love her dearly! Thanks for visiting my blog and viewing this project!

From my Archives...

I have been so busy on my "STAYcation" that I haven't created a thing! Instead, I've just been trying to catch up on everything else. For the record, I'm loosing that battle! Anyway, here is a little project from WAY BACK, when I first started teaching mini books. Hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my past!
